---Please Answer ICly---
The following is a series of questions devised by the Council to get a better understanding of it's citizen. Please be as honest as possible.
Please state your full name, status, and occupation for the record.
"My name is Anaka Iona Onathe. I am an Official Guild Mage for the Knights of Meridian. My occupation, I suppose, would be adventurer first and the occasional errand runner."
How would you describe your appearance?
"My appearance? You're looking at me aren't you?" Anaka's eyes roll but she gives a sigh as the official narrows his eyes. "I stand at about 5'5. My hair is black and falls to just past my mid-back. I say my eyes are dark red, others like to call them blood red. Either way, they are some form of red. When I'm not working I can normally be found in skirts or long pants, tank tops and blouses. The color palette varies I guess, though I tend to drift more to the darker side of the spectrum. My skin is on the pale side so I tend to burn quite easily. It's actually very annoying. As far as my armor goes, it is a black leather and cloth combination that hasn't let me down yet. Oh and of course I'm never without my katana, Ember. She's been with me through everything."
How would others describe your personality?
"Hm..Determined, I suppose is one way to put it? I always try to persevere through the hard times and find a positive spin on things. It doesn't always pan out that way, but whatever. I am also very loyal to my guild and those I deem worthy of my trust." She raises an eyebrow as the conductor continues looking at her. "Oh! You need more? Um, well I can have quite the temper if I am pushed too far over the edge. I suppose I might come off as the withdrawn sort, but I can actually be quite chatty."
What is your greatest achievement?
"I would have to say just being able to join the Knights of Meridan honestly. I mean I've gone on a handful of missions but I wouldn't be where I am today or who I am without my guild."
What is your greatest failure?
"Do we really have to discuss that?...I suppose it would have to be shortly after I obtained my first enchanted katana- Twilight. It was beautiful and enchanted with Dark powers. I loved it...and was stupid enough to leave it at home one day when I went to the town square. When I came home it was missing, has been for about ten years now. That's why I never let Ember leave my sight."
Name one thing you can't live without and one thing you absolutely hate.
"I could never live without...magic, I guess. I have a handful of friends that do not or can not use magic and even though I know they are content and happy with their lives, I don't think I could be. Something I absolutely hate would, without a shadow of a doubt, be rodents. I'm not scared of them, I won't go jumping up on the nearest chair or anything, but I definitely do not want to befriend them."
Please state your history as accurately and thoroughly as possible.
"I was born in the year 764 to Elaine and Korv Onathe in the month of December in the town of Haroa. Though my mother had been pregnant three times before and even twice after, unfortunately the children never came to term. I am still their only child. My mother was a lovely woman but I think all the 'what ifs' in her life really got her down sometimes. In any case, she always did her best! My father was also a hardworking man, still is actually even in his older age. Whereas my mother had no magical ability, my father had quite a bit of power- though I know now that was due to different items he had obtained. He was a solo adventurer and even though he would be gone for a week or two at a time, he always came home and he always brought me back the most interesting gifts.
I guess you could say that he was my inspiration for wanted to be an adventurer. I had a 50/50 chance of being able to use magic and for a while there I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to be able to. My father uses Physical Magic and tried as I might, I just couldn't manifest any magic from myself. Even a couple of the items I tried didn't do anything. When I was fourteen my mother became ill. She was put in the best care at the hospital but her condition deteriorated quickly. She passed shortly after and it was sad time, hard on both me and my father. Our relationship became somewhat distant, especially because he still had to provide for us- so was always away on jobs.
When I was fifteen, he came home from a job where he had been gone for a month. Whenever he was gone I always busied myself with schooling, friends, any trying to make magic. By this age I had an affinity for swords, particularly katanas. They were expensive but I was always eying them- wishing one day I could have my own. That night my father presented me with a beautiful katana named Twilight. The handle was black, inlaid with a golden design. Other than it's beauty, it seemed like a normal katana. As soon as I touched it, I felt the power that coursed through it. I felt the magic.
I was beyond elated that I had finally found a magical item that worked with me. I brought it everywhere I went, but one day I decided to leave it at home while I ran to the market. I hadn't meant to be gone so long but by the time I arrived back home it was missing. I looked everywhere for it but it was no where to be found. My father was upset, I knew, but he didn't actually say anything. Now that I knew my item, I knew what to do. I worked hard and got a job running errands for different people in town until I had saved up enough money to purchase a katana named Ember.
At the age of twenty, after practicing constantly and going on a few very minor missions of my own, I felt confident enough to try and become a member of the Knights of Meridan. I failed their test four times. However, the fifth time I finally managed to finish and the guild leader was impressed with my determination. He granted me entrance in to the guild and I became an official member one week before my 22nd birth day.
Now at the age of 25 I am constantly trying to improve my technique so I can be good enough to go on more difficult missions without be too much of a hindrance on my team.
